Luis Anton Imperial A Filipino with Great Impact Made in Chemistry January 29, 2020 A Filipino with Great Impact Made in Chemistry Anacleto del Rosario Agricultural chemist Had a degree in pharmacy from the University of Santo Tomas Scientist from the Laboratorio Municipal de la Ciudad de Manila He was a leading Filipino chemist during the Spanish Period and was considered the Father of Philippine Science and Laboratory. His formula for the production of a pure kind of alcohol from tuba of a nipa palm won for him the first prize at the World Fair in Paris in 1881. He extracted castor oil from a native plant called palma christi.
