About- Achalasia also known as esophageal achalasia, achalasia cardiae, cardiospasm, and esophageal aperistalsis is a rare disorder that makes it difficult for food and liquid to pass into the stomach. Symptoms- • Difficulty swallowing • Backflow of the food in the throat • Coughing and the risk of aspiration • Inhaling or choking on food • Intense pain or discomfort after eating • Chest pain and discomfort • Heartburn • Weight loss Causes- Achalasia occurs because of the damaged nerve of the tube (esophagus) connecting mouth and stomach, due to that it loses flexibility and ability to squeeze food down. Actual causes are difficult to find sometime.
