What is the ETL and ELT?
ETL (extract, transform, load) is a data integration process that helps organizations extract data 
from various sources and bring it into a single database. ETL consists of three stages:
Extraction: Data is extracted from the source system by using data system queries or by changing 
the data capture process - SaaS, online, on-premises and others. After the information is extracted, 
the data is moved to the staging area. 
Transformation: The data is then cleaned, processed and converted to a normal format so that it 
can be used through a targeted data warehouse, database or data leak.
Loading: The formatted data is loaded into the target system. This process may involve writing to a 
limited file, creating a schema in a database, or adding a new object type to an application.
ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) is a data aggregation process that transfers data from the 
source system to the target system without the logic-driven conversions of the business 
to the data system. ELT consists of three stages:
Extraction: Raw data is extracted from a variety of sources, such as applications, SaaS 
or databases.
Loading: The data is delivered directly to the target system - especially in the process 
by transfer to schema and data type.
Transformation: The target platform can then convert the data for the purpose of the 
report. Some companies rely on tools like DBT to make targeted changes.
