Pushkar fair is known by many
names like “Pushkar camel
fair”, “Kartik Mela” or
“Pushkar ka Mela”. As the
name says This far held in
Pushkar. Fair starts in the
month of Kartik and ends on
Kartik Purnima. It’s a cultural
festival.

HISTORY
According to the history, 330 million
Hindu region god and goddess came to
Pushkar lake on Poornima and feel pious
because of this pilgrims come here and
take a bath in Pushkar lake and after
that visit temples. People believe that
lake water is very pure and holy.
RAMAYANA
According to the Ramayana Vishvamitra
do their tapasya in the Pushkar and
Menaka who comes from heaven to take
a bath in the holy water of Pushkar
Lake.
MAHABHARATA
In Mahabharata also king Yudhishthira
took bath in the Pushkar lake during his
traveling, this is also a reason that’s
why the Pushkar lake is very famous.
BIG FAIR
One of the largest fairs of India, Pushkar fair is
famous for camel, horse, cattle, sheep, and goats. It
is also known for its trading livestock. Which is very
attractive for farmers and helpful also.

PUSHKAR LAKE
This fair organizes near the Pushkar lake, all
shops, live stocks, and other things happen around
this lake. From Kartik Ekadashi to Kartik Poornima
celebration at its peak. Hindu pilgrims come here
visit temples and take a bath in Pushkar lake
which suppose to be very good according to holy
books.

In fair, there are many rural shops
which contain many handicrafts like
textiles clothes, bracelets, fabrics
clothes which is the source of income for
those people. Tourists visit here and buy
these things.
