                     5 Statistical Facts of Drug Abuse in India
  
 The Drug Rehabilitation Centre in India stated that drug abuse is wholesomely spread 
across the reigns of India, and majorly across the state of Punjab. It is the only state which 
once transmitted a strong drug route from Afghanistan and Pakistan, and has a strong 
consumer base, mainly capturing the teenage population. Thus, the 
Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Pune stated the major 5 facts which one should know 
about drug abuse in India. They are as follows: 
  
 As when the Punjab government commissioned a drug abuse study in the year of 2015, it 
was found that approximately 2,30,000 people in the state of Punjab were all drug users, 
which then translated to be 836 drug users, which means users per 100,000 people in the 
state. The All India number therefore standed to be 250 per head, which stands to be 
100,000 in 2012, specifically stated by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Even 
the figure of 250 drug abusers per 100,000 is also known to be very high as compared not to 
other states but to several other companies.
