Chronic Kidney Disease, or CKD, is an impairment or reduction of kidney function. It can occur due to numerous reasons, such as diabetes, hypertension, or having a family history of such disorders. Sometimes, the kidneys can also experience severe damage due to autoimmune conditions such as IgA nephropathy and lupus nephritis, which can lead to the development of CKD.
