TOP HIGHLIGHTS OF INDIAN BUDGET- 2019 Image credit business today Some facts about Budget-2019 89th Union Budget is presented in 17th Lok Sabha ( House of the people). By BJP government Lok Sabha speaker- Om Birla Presented By- Nirmala Sitaraman. The first woman Finance minister in the history of India to present the Budget. Vision for 2019 Making the Indian economy to third-largest in the world. Indian Economy will be reached to 5 trillion US $ in the upcoming years. Currently, the Indian economy is 6th largest in the world. Vision is to make it 3rd largest economy in the upcoming year. To achieve this will work on two principles : 1. Perform – Reform – Transform 2. Minimum Government, Maximum Governance. Also, different policies and reforms declared. Here are some highlights on the Indian budget. 1. Employment The government vision is to make India Job Creator. In 2019-20 about 75000 skilled entrepreneurs for agro-rural industries will be trained under ASPIRE. The world’s 3rd largest aviation market in India. Government focus will be to create job opportunities in Engineering and Aviation sector by development of MRO. MRO- Maintenance Repair and Overall Industry 2. MSME The MSME sector is important to grow the economy of any country. The government will focus on development from the lower hierarchy. Loan of 1 Cr will be provided to MSMEs with the help of the portal, within 59 Minutes. 350 Cr is approved for the year 2019-2020. 3. Women Empowerment Nirmala Sitaraman addressed Indian women as, ‘Naari Tu Naarayani’. The government will expand Women Self Help Groups (SGH) to encourage women’s participation in entrepreneurship. – One woman per every SHG will be given 1 Lakh of the loan under MUDRA Yojana. – Overdraft of 5000 for every SGH verified women. 4. Banks To boost the capital and improve credit 70,000 Crore will be approved for Public sector Banks. Digitalization in the Public Banking sector will be advanced. 5. Tax In the year 2015- 2018, Direct Tax collection is raised by 78%. 6. Infrastructure development The government target is One Nation – One Grid (In the sector of Gas pipelines, waterways, highways and regional airports). 1. Second phase of Bharatmala Project – State road network. 2. Water ways for cargo transportation. 3. Metro project – In the year 2019, 210kms of metro routes are operational and 300kms are approved. 4. Jalmarga Vikas project – Focus on enhancing the navigational capacity of river Ganga Multi model terminals at Sahibganj and Haldiya and Navigational lock at Faraaka would be completed in 2019-20. 5. Railway – PPP model for further development. 6. Air connectivity – UDAN scheme would be improved. 7. One Nation – One Card National common mobility card launched by PM on March 2019. You can pay multiple kinds of transport charges, retail payments, parking pay, and money withdrawal is available too. It runs on the Rupay card. 8. Pradhan mantri Karmyogi Maan dhan Yojana Pension benefit for retail traders and small shopkeepers whose annual turnover is less than 1.5 Crore. 9. Gandhi-pedia The government will launch Gandhi-pedia to promote Gandhian school of thought and principles. 10. Rural area Each and every family in the rural area will have electricity and gas connections by the year 2022.
