Packaging is a major focal point for manufacturers when it comes to sustainability, owing to the ways in which it ties into waste generation, carbon footprint reduction and other dimensions of environmental impact. Conventional packaging solutions are the largest sources of plastic waste generated today, contributing 42% of the total primary plastics in use currently and about 141 million tonnes of non-biodegradable waste material annually.
