Most Hunted Tunnels In India 1. TUNNEL 33: THE STORY • Tunnel No 33 takes its name from Colonel Barog, who is also believed to haunt the site. In 1898 the job of building a tunnel in this area was assigned to Colonel Barog, who was a railway engineer, and to get the work finished in a stipulated time. Source: Wikimedia commons 1. CHITTOOR, ANDHRA PRADESH • Local people near this place claimed this station was being haunted for its tales. • One CRPF official named Hari Singh, got down at Chittoor railway station and was attacked by fellow RPF personnel and TTEs. • Since then this officer's soul is thought to be pursuing revenge. Source: Daily Mail 3. BEGUNKODAR, WEST BENGAL • Then there's Begunkodar, India's own ghost-station. Lachan Kumari, a local Santhal queen, donated some of her lands to the railways in the Purulia district, in West Bengal, in the early 1960s. • Sometime in 1967, the stationmaster saw a white-clothed woman, whom he assumed to be an apparition. He died afterwards, with the villagers suspecting the woman's ghost had murdered him. Source: The Indian Express 3. BEGUNKODAR, WEST BENGAL CONTD. • Some think the daughter of the stationmaster had committed suicide on the tracks, too. • The station eventually fell into disuse. GOLCONDA FORT TUNNEL • It is said that the Sultans' durbar hall in the Golconda Fort to the Gosha Mahal near the Charminar also had a hidden tunnel. • In the early 1950s attempts were made to clear the tunnel from the Golconda Fort under the orders of grandson Prince Mukarram Jah of the Nizam. DWARKA SECTOR 9, DELHI • One of the Delhi's metro station, Dwarka Sector 9 is haunted as per the rumors. • People believe a lady-ghost runs behind cars on the roads at night near this station. The station is quite a popular place in the city because of its haunted stories. • When the last metro that passes this station around 10:30 pm, it is said that people can spot a ghost-like appearance on the tracks.
