In search of new treatments within the traumatology clinic, Dr. Andrés Cobar continued his studies in minimally invasive spine surgery and ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal infiltrations. He has been a pioneer in the use of these treatments to deal with common sports pain or injuries in a less invasive way and has carried out the first day of scoliosis in Guatemala. Always looking for an alternative to hospitalization, Dr. Cobar performs 6 to 7 interventions per month in his own clinic, in zone 10 of Guatemala. These are non-invasive outpatient procedures, which can be used to treat spinal pain, musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, scoliosis treatment, eliminate pyramidal syndrome and more. One of the treatments that this professional performs most, minimally invasive spine surgery, is used in people with different conditions in the spine, improving their quality of life. This practice is recent in Guatemala, but it is gaining adherents for its effectiveness and for being a surgery with less recovery time and risks. There are two main objectives that are sought with this intervention: preserve or restore the nervous system and preserve the stability of the spine. The focus of Dr. Andrés Cobar is always on the patient, in being able to clearly determine what the condition is and treat the disease from the root. This professional is committed to more innovative and less invasive procedures, which are already being used in the international scene. He firmly believes that the treatment should be adapted to each patient and that the disease should not be treated in isolation, but that it is generally related to other aspects of daily life.
