WHAT IS A MOBILE PHONE? 

A mobile phone, known as a cell phone in North 

America. It is a device that can make and receive calls 

over a radio frequency link while the user is moving 

within a telephone service area. 

 

 


The first mobile phone was demonstrated by John F. Mitchell 

and Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973.

In 1983, Motorola released its first mobile phone - Motorola 

DynaTAC 8000X.

At the start of 1990s Nokia launched its first handheld mobile 

phone - Mobira Cityman 900

The first smartphone was developed in 1993 by IBM & 

BellSouth.

Some of other mobile phones are released between 1990 and 

present day.

The iPhone was launched on June 29th 2007, a phone came 

along that would change technology.
