7 wonders of the world WONDERS OF THE WORLD CHICHÉN ITZÁ — MEXICO Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula is known for its Mayan sites. Chichén Itzá is a large Mayan city famous for a large, pyramid temple built by the Maya civilization. Petra located in a remote canyon in Jordan's southwestern desert, was built by the Nabataeans. It is also known as the lost city. In 1985, the Petra was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, and in 2007 it was named one of the new seven wonders of the world. Petra — Jordan CHRIST THE REEDEMER STATUE - BRAZIL Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer statue is Brazil's most famous landmark, created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa. TAJ MAHAL - INDIA The Taj Mahal, located on the southern bank of the Yamuna River in Agra, it is a symbol of love. It was built in the 17th century by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved late wife Mumtaz Mahal. The view of Taj Mahal is beautiful especially at sunrise and sunset. R O M A N C O L O S S E U M - R O M E The Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre. It is located in the center of the city of Rome Italy. The colosseum is the largest amphitheatre ever built. MACHU PICCHU - PERU Machu pichu is located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, District in Peru. In 1983 Machu pichu was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA - CHINA The Great Wall of China, which was started more than 2,000 years ago. The wall built in 220–206 BC by Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. Thank You!
