It will have capacity for a crew of six. But in its effort to catch up, China has sent astronauts into space, satellites into orbit and a rover to the far side of the Moon in 2019 Source: Google Images A NEW SPACE STATION Assembly of the Tiangong space station, whose name means Heavenly Palace, is expected to begin this year and finish in 2022. It will have three modules, with living and working quarters and two annexes for scientific experiments. The next big mission for Beijing is to land a probe on Mars, with liftoff expected this year. It is being reported that the launch has been successful, which will pave the way for the country’s ambitions to operate a permanent space station and sending astronauts to Moon. If they have a launcher which can do this, they would be able to send this new spacecraft to do a circumlunar mission like Apollo 8 Source: Google Images NEXT IN LINE China’s launch was also critical for the country’s future space ambitions in the year ahead. Later this summer, China intends to launch its Tianwen-1 mission, which will send the country’s first lander and rover to Mars, as well as a spacecraft that will orbit the Red Planet. Then toward the end of the year, China will launch its next mission to the Moon Source: Google Images
