The purpose of writing this letter is to bring to your attention that the layoff proposal that you have 
designed will surely be great for cost cutting in our department but we will end up losing some of the 
precious gems from our department. 
Therefore, I would strongly suggest you to please set up a meeting for discussing on the proposed plan 
in detail so that we can together look for more areas where we can save on our costs instead of laying 
off important names from our team. Some of the names that you have suggested have been associated 
with our company for a long time and losing them is losing on great experience. 
I am hopeful that you will consider my request and will schedule a meeting to discuss the same at length 
so that we can look for a better solution.
