How to ensure proper cooling in your dorm room

How to ensure proper cooling in your dorm room? After a busy day where you have had one class after the other, the last thing you want is to enter a hot and stuffy dorm room. Therefore, it is necessary to ventilate and cool the dorms properly. It will allow students to concentrate on their studies during the exam season. Also, it would mean that the students will get proper sleep as they won’t need to suffer from extremely high temperatures. But, how can you control the temperature of your dorm room? We have enlisted some tricks to help you find a suitable answer to that. Here you go! How can you cool your dorm room? 1. VRV Air Conditioning: To maintain the dorm room temperature, one of the best tricks is to install an air conditioner. VRV air conditioning is the best for this purpose as the AC is a multi-split type unit that offers students the individual zone control ability for each room. This will allow students living in different rooms to control the temperatures as per their suitability. Also, since the unit is energy-efficient and reliable, it will be well-suited for the job. 2. Purchase a Fan: If your dorm does not have AC, you can look for cheaper alternatives to ensure proper cooling. For this purpose, you can invest in a decent portable fan. Although it won’t lower the temperature of the surroundings, it will wick away the sweat that will promise a cooling effect. For ensuring better results, you can decide to place a block of ice behind the fan before turning it on. The ice block will create colder air, similar to an AC. 3. Invest in Humidifier: If your room is too hot and dry, you can decide to invest in a cold mist humidifier. It will emit cool vapors to add moisture to the air. However, the downside here is that a humidifier can be noisier. Also, it can lead to bacterial growth, which is why you must clean it regularly. 4. Turn off electrical appliances: For maintaining the optimal temperature inside your dorm room, you should make sure to turn off electrical appliances when they are not in use. Light bulbs, kettles, irons generate a lot of heat which is why they shouldn’t be on if not necessary. While using one or two appliances doesn’t create much difference, using several simultaneously can definitely increase the temperature.  5. Keep the blinds closed: Most of the sunlight that falls on the double-pane windows turns into heat during summers. So when the direct sunlight enters your house, you should draw the curtains. It will deflect much of the heat and keep the room temperatures under control. If you decide to go with this, you should look for a curtain with white plastic backing. They are best for reflecting heat. So, these are a few methods that you should try to reduce the temperature of your dorm for a good night’s sleep. Thank You
