IPL 2024 Top 10 Most Expensive Players List: The player auction, conducted in Dubai on 
December 19 in preparation for the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), saw clubs lavishly 
spending their funds on a select group of renowned cricketers.
Upon joining the Sunrisers, World Cup-winning Australian captain Pat Cummins became the most 
expensive player in IPL history. However, that record was soon surpassed by compatriot Mitchell 
Starc's Rs. 24.75 crore transfer to the Kolkata Knight Riders.
A few domestic players, in addition to the international players, also benefited monetarily from 
the auction.

IPL 2024 Most Expensive Players List
1 Mitchell Starc
 Rs 24.75 crore: Following his performances in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, the Australian 
speedster was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for an exorbitant price of Rs 24.75 crore. 
Starc last played in the Indian Premier tournament (IPL) in 2016, although he has 34 wickets in 27 
games in the franchise T20 tournament. To get this agreement, KKR had to beat off opposition 
from the Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titans (GT), and Mumbai Indians (MI), among others.
2. Pat Cummins 
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed the World Cup-winning skipper for 20.50 crore, making 
him the second-most expensive player in IPL history. Cummins missed the IPL last season to 
concentrate on his international cricket commitments, and the choice paid off as the bowler 
guided Australia to World Test Championship (WTC) and ODI World Cup titles. Will Cummins 
succeed Aiden Markram as SRH captain? Wait and see is the only way to find out.

3. Daryl Mitchell 
Rs 14 crore: During the recently concluded World Cup, the Kiwi batter played the usual No. 4, hitting 552 
runs at an average of 69 and recording century in both matches against India. His impressive middle-order 
performances drew the curiosity of CSK management, who paid a premium price for the skilled right-hander.
4. Harshal Patel 
Rs 11.75 crore: The medium pacer was released by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but the Punjab 
Kings (PBKS) invested Rs 11.75 crore on him. Harshal Patel held the purple cap in IPL 2021 and has a broad 
range of variations that might be effective in the vast Mohali boundaries.

5. Alzarri Joseph
11.5 crore rupees: After releasing Josh Hazlewood, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) grabbed the 
Caribbean pacer to improve their bowling attack. Joseph formerly played for the Gujarat Titans (GT) and has 
20 wickets at an economy rate of 9.19 in 19 league games.
6. Spencer Johnson 
Rs 10 crore: GT paid a high price for Australian fast bowler Spencer Johnson, a left-arm pacer who has 
played 20 T20 games and collected 17 wickets at an economy of 7.84 in his brief career. The bowler may be 
useful early in the innings, extracting movement from the surface, and then be as useful with the older ball, 
employing his variations to excellent effect. Johnson is still an untested commodity in the IPL, and it remains 
to be seen if he is worth the money paid for
7. Sameer Rizvi 
Rs 8.4 crore: In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction in Dubai on Tuesday, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) broke 
the bank by paying Rs 8.5 crore for Uttar Pradesh (UP) batter Sameer Rizvi, 20. CSK, Gujarat Titans (GT), and Delhi 
Capitals (DC) were all vying for the services of the youthful power batter. Rizvi is expected to make his debut in the 
lucrative franchise T20 competition next season, after a powerful performance for the Kanpur Superstars in the UP 
T20 competition.

8. Rilee Rossouw 
Rs 8 crore: Surprisingly, the South African southpaw went unsold the first time his name was called. The Punjab 
Kings, on the other hand, went all guns blazing, spending Rs 8 crore for the big batter as the auction dynamics 
turned out in such a manner that they needed to improve their batting unit. Rossouw has 624 runs at an average of 
36.78 and a strike rate of 156.02 in 24 T20Is.
9. Shahrukh Khan 
Rs 7.4 crore: The Tamil Nadu batter was released, but he found new takers with the Gujarat Titans, who were 
searching for fresh middle-order additions following Hardik Pandya's exit. Shahrukh has not lived up to the 
expectations in the IPL so far, but he surely has the ability to quiet the detractors. The Titans have made the most of 
numerous untapped potentials in recent years, and Shahrukh might be one of them in the next season.
10. Rovman Powell 
Rs 7.4 crore: The Rajasthan Royals (RR) paid Rs 7.4 crore for the West Indian hitter, who was aiming to add firepower 
to their middle order. Powell's deficiencies against spin bowling have become apparent in recent seasons, but he 
remains a good hitter against pacers, which the Royals may exploit if he is used in particular periods of the innings.
