License Description:  An administrator-in-training (AIT) 
candidate is a person completing an established program of 
training necessary to secure a license as a nursing home 
administrator (NHA). AITs are also referred to as ""trainee."" 
Trainees accumulating experience in Oregon toward the 
requirements for licensure shall register as specified in OAR 853-
010-0015. AIT candidates are required to complete an approved 
AIT program under the guidance and supervision of a certified 
preceptor. The AIT program requires completion of 960 hours of 
training and typically takes six months or longer to complete.
