Neither the laptops can replace desktops, nor the desktop can replace the laptops. The Laptops will always perform less than a desktop. The laptops are also better in many ways. In a desktop you will need a desktop external mouse, keyboard and monitor but these are the components of PC anyways and the whole is said as desktop.
