Ustad Bismillah Khan (1913 – 2006)

An amazing shehnai player, Ustad Bismillah was a 

best music performer who has  kept the essence of 

Indian music culture with  his art of music. The 

legendary player of Indian music Industry has 

performed in remeberable national occasions like 

the first Independence Day, the first Republic day 

of the nation.  He's been presented with 

honourable awards such as the Bharat Ratna, 

Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, 

and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.

Pandit Ravi Shankar (1920-2012)

Pandit Ravi Shankar has given so 
contribution to Hindustani classical 
music.Pandit Ravi Shankar was among the 
best known players from the sitar. He was 
presented with countless awards and 
honors in his  lifetime,the Bharat Ratna (the 
greatest civilian award in India) in 1999.

Hariprasad Chaurasia (1938 – present)

Popular Indian flute player. 
Hariprasad Chaurasia has received 
Padma Shree and Padma Vibushan. 
He is legendary music artists and 
respected by everyone.

Pandit Shivkumar Sharma (1938 – present)

He is very famous from playing in santoor aid.

He is the best instrument player a well as known 

srtist in classical music. He got the Padma Shree and 

Padma Vibhushan awards.His compositions for 

blockbusters for example Silsila and Chandni really 

are a symbol of his musical brilliance.

R.D. Burman (1939 – 2004)

▫ Typically known as ‘Panchamda’.He was the one 

who introduced Western tunes inside the Hindi film 

industry. His musical ideas were innovative and 

fresh to Indian ears. Heavily inspired by Western 

music, especially Arabian and Persian music, he 

attempted several music themes to create fusional 

music songs.

Jagjit Singh (1941 – 2011)
