Introduction
Today, you are about to know about the candidate Raj 
Dhaliwal. In Calgary-Skyview, engineer Raj Dhaliwal 
announced his plans to challenge Jagdish Anand for the 
Liberal Party nomination. Raj Dhaliwal is an Engineer 
by profession. He got inspiration from his father as his 
father was also an engineer by profession in India.
Raj Dhaliwal was born in India, and at a very young age, 
he migrated to Canada with his family, consisting of his 
parents, his younger brother. His family decided to 
settle in Northeast Calgary. Both of his parents worked 
hard to provide him and his brother a better life in 
Canada.

The next civic election is on October 18, 2021. And the 
master list of all the candidates who have declared 
they're running for Calgary city council, along with the 
Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Catholic School 
District trustees, has been chiefly announced. Official 
nominations opened January 4 and closed September 
20, 2021, at noon. Raj Dhaliwal is part of the municipal 
election from Ward 5 Calgary, the most diverse and 
dynamic area to live in, and his goal is to make Calgary 
the best city in the world to live in.
Education
Most people who know Raj Dhaliwal personally will say 
that he was a typical Northeast Calgary kid. His first 
part-time job in high school was working at a local 
Northeast convenience store. After graduating from 
Lester B. Pearson high school, Raj Dhaliwal attended 
the University of Calgary, where he obtained a Bachelor 
of Arts in International Relations; following that, he 
participated at the Schulich School of Engineering, 
where he received a degree in Chemical Engineering. 
Raj Dhaliwal is happily married with two young boys.
Supported Many Different Community 
Initiatives
Raj Dhaliwal continues to support many different 
community initiatives. He has mentored many young 
professionals, and he has helped them find jobs here in 
Calgary. He also works with seniors and newcomers and 
teaches them computer skills, and helps them with 
their job searches through the Calgary Public Library in 
the Northeast. He has been working for a leading oil 
and gas company in Calgary for over ten years. Since his 
day as a teenager, Raj has been actively engaged in his 
local community.
