The Northeast is a great place to build a living. My 
success is a Northeast story. It’s a story made possible by 
my family, friends, neighbours, and community. Raj also 
served on the board of directors for Northeast Family 
Connections, where he oversaw the development and 
implementation of programs that helped local families 
and youth. Through this, Raj gained a greater 
understanding of the challenges faced by many families in 
the Northeast, and in particular, those facing urban 
youth. He believes Ward 5 deserves a better future and 
that we must be bold, courageous and united to move 
forward. I am ready and committed to serving our 
community and fighting for an equitable, inclusive and 
fair tomorrow.
Stan Sandhu
Stan Sandhu was born and raised in the blue-collar mining 
and forestry town of Quesnel, British Columbia. Stan 
learned from his immigrant parents the value of hard work 
and discipline at an early age. While in school, he worked 
night shifts, all while studying and making time to play ice 
hockey. The role of sports has been invaluable in shaping 
Stan’s character and his values around leadership, team 
work, preparation and building positive daily habits. Stan 
wanted to dedicate his life to making a positive impact, 
specifically for North East Calgary, the community that had 
given so much to him. So, in 2017, Stan left his corporate 
career and joined the Ward 5 office as Strategic Policy 
Advisor and became a voice for the community.
Aryan Sadat 
Aryan has a strong passion for politics and takes pride in 
helping the right candidates get elected. Aryan first 
stepped foot into politics when he became Advisor to 
former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice during Prentice’s 
successful PC leadership campaign in 2014 and to 
former Minister of Infrastructure Manmeet Singh 
Bhullar’s campaign in 2015. He also volunteered 
alongside Manmeet on a special project helping Sikh 
and Hindu minorities in Afghanistan. Numerous families 
have now safely been relocated to India and Canada 
where they have built new lives free of religious 
persecution.
Tudor Dinca 
The 2017 municipal election, brought significant 
changes to Ward 5. New communities, new boundaries 
and a new Councillor should have allowed for greater 
opportunities to respond to the needs of its residents. 
As this year’s municipal election draws closer (October 
18th, 2021), it has become abundantly clear that the NE 
quadrant of the City, even under a new name (Ward 5), 
continues to suffer from a lack of essential services, 
poor urban planning, a sub-par public transit network 
and a shallow community engagement process. For too 
long, our elected officials have taken few small steps 
forward in areas where significant leaps were 
necessary.
